Specialist Libraries

The specialist libraries support research, teaching and studies largely locally with media on subject-specific issues. They mainly buy research-specific literature. They are primarily set up as reference libraries which ensure the availability of the desired literature.
The Central Library is one of the two pillars of the information and literature supply on the campus of Saarland University, alongside the specialist libraries. It coordinates the acquisition of e-books and e-journals. The Central Library pays particular attention to ensuring that students are provided with sufficient basic literature. In addition, as the state library, it acquires literature to and from the Saarland. The Central Library offers most of its holdings for loan. The profile gives you an overview of the main areas of focus of the Central Library. The holdings of most libraries are represented in the Saarland Virtual Catalogue. The search provides an overview of the individual locations of the medium.
