The Literary Archive Saar-Lor-Lux-Elsass

The Literary Archive Saar-Lor-Lux-Elsass collects handwritten manuscripts, books, photographs, pictures, films, audio recordings and text documents by and about authors who lived or wrote in the region encompassing Saarland, Luxembourg and the Lorraine and Alsace regions of France.

The Archive indexes the works and materials that are bequeathed to it or donated in the form of living legacies and it supports scholarly analysis and debate of the materials in the archive.

However, the Literary Archive is more than a just a repository of historical records.

Exhibitions of the literature and culture of the Saar-Lor-Lux-Alsace region are presented in the exhibition space, which is located in the foyer of the main SULB building.

The library itself houses an extensive collection of literary works from Saarland, Luxembourg, Lorraine and Alsace.

As part of Saarland University, the Literary Archive of the Saar-Lor-Lux and Alsace Regions is open to all, whether they are interested in scholarly research or private study.
