The Central Library and the Medical Library welcome donations that meaningfully complement their collections and support the provision of literature for research and studies, as well as their role as State Library.  

Of particular interest are:

> Historical collections dating from before 1850,
> bibliophile editions,
> items with a notable provenance,
> publications relevant to regional studies,
> monographs, particularly those published by associations,
> journals and newspapers published bevore 1945 thar are not yet held by the Central Library.  

Information about donations

Donations are accepted only on an unconditional basis, with the library retaining unrestricted rights of disposal. 
If a list of titles is already available, this will facilitate the assessment of the offer and the decision on whether to accept it. 
Please understand that donations may be declined, for example, due to the condition of the items.
Upon acceptance, the items become the property of the respective library. 
As a rule, donation receipts are not issued. Any justified exceptions are decided by the subject librarians in consultation with the library director.

Discussing your offer with us beforehand facilitates its assessment and helps avoid unnecessary work for both parties.
