Free menstrual articles for female students

From winter semester 2021/2022, the Equal Opportunities Office of the Saarland University, together with the Studierendenwerk and the AStA of the UdS, will be providing free tampons and pads for students on campus in Saarbrücken and Homburg.

With a total of five self-service machines at the Saarbrücken and Homburg campuses, Saarland University is - as in France - setting an example against "period poverty" and thus also further initiating the process of de-tabooising the topic of menstruation. The vending machines are freely accessible - one of them hangs in the vestibule of the toilet area of the central library.
On Tuesday, 26.10.2021, from 11.30 a.m. - 2 p.m., there will be a kick-off event in the refectories at the Saarbrücken and Homburg campuses, where menstruation cups will also be distributed free of charge as a sustainable option.
More information can be found on the pages of the Equal Opportunities Office.
