Late returns and lost books

If you do not return materials that you have borrowed by their due date, you will incur a charge (fine) for each overdue item. (Note: for the purposes of calculating a late-return fine, ‘day’ means a day on which the library is open).

• Materials that are 3–12 days overdue: €1.50 per item.
• Materials that are 13–22 days overdue: an additional €3 per item, i.e. a total of €4.50 per item.
• Materials that are more than 22 days overdue: an additional €6.50 per item, i.e. a total of €11 per item.

If you lose an item belonging to the library, you will be required to replace it. If you lose or damage an item, please complete the lost-item form (Fomular Verlusterklärung) and send it by email to the local lending services team.

Any fees incurred can be paid at the automatic pay station located opposite the service counter.
