75 years of SULB – we're celebrating with literature!
To kick off our anniversary celebrations, we cordially invite you to a reading with Birgit Herold on Library Day (Tag der Bibliotheken), 24 October 2025.

The author, who lives in Saarland, will read from her latest novel, Die Schreiberin (published in October 2024) – a fascinating look at the life of the historical figure Clara Hätzlerin, the only documented female scribe of the Middle Ages.

Immerse yourself in a time of change: from ornate manuscripts to Gutenberg's revolution in book printing – a literary journey through a period of written culture full of upheaval.
The reading will be held in German.
